Tottori University delegates partake in an interactive learning with the BSU-KONTAD aimed at experiencing select traditional dances in the region. The session concluded with a performance showcasing what they had learned while dressed in the traditional Cordilleran attire.
In the afternoon, the delegates engaged in an eco-educational tour at the Cordillera Regional Apiculture Center (CRAC) and the Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry (IHFSA), where they learned of the efforts of the university in research, livelihood, and income generation toward environmental sustainability.
Mr. Tristan Apiles, CRAC farm technician, conducted an orientation about the center and the beekeeping processes and procedures. Following this, the delegates had enrichment discussions with Mr. Hemar Batil, science research assistant, and Mr. Hanter Paul Bangitao and Mr. Lovenel Cagadoc, CRAC volunteers. On the other hand, Mr. Vecker Tero, IHFSA farm supervisor, toured the delegates around the vicinity after a short introduction of IHFSA and its purpose. He shared the different drying methods, drying process, the roasting methods of the coffee beans, and the budding process of the citrus trees.
