Benguet State University warmly welcomed representatives from Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN), Indonesia, on July 22, 2026. The delegation was composed of Dr. Abdul Kadir, M.Pd., Head of LP2M IAIN and Lead Researcher, and Muh. Kurniawan, M.Pd., Head of Global Partnership. They were joined by representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Benguet: Aladin M. Dobinto, Chief Education Program Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division; Delarosa V. Delmas, Public Schools District Supervisor of La Trinidad District; and Lorna M. Yaco, Education Program Specialist II.
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the BSU-Office of the President, where they were welcomed by University President Kenneth A. Laruan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Janet P. Pablo, and International Relations Office (IRO) Director Rex John G. Bawang.
Following the courtesy visit, the delegation met with deans and representatives from the College of Social Sciences and the College of Teacher Education to learn more about the University’s academic programs and discuss possible areas for collaboration. The discussion focused on opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, research collaboration, and other academic partnerships.
As part of their visit, they also toured the Cordillera Regional Apiculture Center, where they learned about BSU’s beekeeping programs and practices.
The visit marked an important step toward building a meaningful partnership between BSU and IAIN Indonesia. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both institutions expressing their interest in pursuing a formal agreement to strengthen future collaboration in education, research, and academic exchange.
