The International Major Groups and Stakeholders Preparatory Meeting for the Joint Retreat of the UNEA-6 Bureaus from July 5-8, 2023, was a significant experience. Organized by UNEP and the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Environment, the forum brought together civil society organizations, environmental stakeholders, and major groups to align priorities ahead of UNEA-6. The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on environmental governance, policy frameworks, and sustainable development goals.
Engaging in discussions, I gained valuable insights into global environmental priorities and the importance of collaboration among diverse stakeholders. The meeting enhanced my understanding of the decision-making processes within UNEA and empowered me to advocate more effectively for inclusive, people-centered environmental policies.
