“Bridging Futures: Expanding Filipino Access to International Education” – an information session for students from the College of Engineering and the College of Forestry. The session was conducted by the PTCP Explore Career Consultancy Services, discussing International Education and career opportunities abroad. The session was held at the function hall of the International Relations Office on February 6, 2026.
A total of 30 students from the CE and CF joined the information session. The engagement event tackled the services and benefits of the study abroad program, which aims to give students a broader choice by presenting them with broader opportunities to study and work abroad.
Ms. Irene Victore opened the event with a brief welcome before delving deeper into the session. She introduced the services PTCP Explore offers, such as study abroad, internship/traineeship for Agriculture and Hospitality, study tour, visa assistance, and passport assistance. These services are applicable to their partners from countries like Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Malta, New Zealand, Poland, and Spain.
Meanwhile, Mr. Matt Aldrei Salipio discussed the benefits of studying abroad. These benefits include; fast-paced and hands-on training, quality education in world top-ranked universities/schools with a duration of 1-3 years, a part-time opportunity while studying, scholarship opportunities, access to post-study work permit, pathway to permanent residency, cultural and social benefits, advanced technology, and lastly, for European countries under the Schengen visa, travel to 29 countries without additional visa.
Moreover, Ms. Emielyn Balagtas delved into the Proof of Funds and Post-Study Work permit. She explained the process of managing the funds and reminded the participants of the funds they need upon applying for the programs offered.
The session concluded with an open forum, as a few participants inquired about the matters they wanted to know more about in the offered programs, career opportunities, and studying abroad. Additionally, Ma’am Balagtas reminded the participants to prioritize their studies when they plan to study abroad, for it is the reason they applied for the program.//Rosciel Yapeng Batalier and Jelaine Victorino, BAEL Interns.
This information session strengthened students’ awareness of global pathways and supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly #SDG4QualityEducation, #SDG8decentworkandeconomicgrowth, and #SDG17partnershipsforthegoals, by promoting access to international education, skills development, and global collaboration.
