Six personnel from the International Veterinary Outreach (IVO), San Francisco, USA, were warmly welcomed by the BSU community during the flag-raising ceremony on December 9, 2024. The delegation included Dr. Kate Schoenhals, Dr. John Schlimpf, Dr. Jason Peacock, Dr. Janella Villa, Dr. Jana Sevilla, and Dr. Steve Ternura.
The veterinary team conducted trainings and seminars on equine handling on December 7 and 8, 2024. They will also hold Horse Clinics at Wright Park and Camp John Hay on December 10 and 11, respectively.
This marks the second year of the Working Equid Health & Welfare Program, a collaborative initiative by IVO, the Benguet State University College of Veterinary Medicine (BSU-CVM), the Baguio City Veterinary Office, local horse handler associations, and community volunteers. The program aims to promote wellness care for horses in the region.
