Benguet State University (BSU) warmly welcomed Mr. Ibrahim Katirci, Country Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), along with two project staff members from the agency during their recent visit to the University on March 12, 2026.
The guests were accompanied by International Relations Office (IRO) Director Rex John G. Bawang, along with other IRO staff members, as they paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the University President, where they were received by Dr. Josel M. Florentin, Vice President for Business Affairs, and Dr. Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres, Vice President for Research and Extension. The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional connections and explore potential areas of cooperation between BSU and TİKA.
Following the courtesy visit, the group proceeded to the Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry (IHFSA), where Mr. Vecker Tero, IHFSA Farm Supervisor, together with Ms. Loida A. Sadey, Science Research Assistant, guided the visitors around the facility. During the tour, the team shared insights on the different coffee drying methods, processing techniques, roasting practices, operational requirements, and the equipment currently used by the Institute. The activity also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange insights and explore possible areas of future collaboration between BSU and TİKA.
