The Department of 𝑷𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚, 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 of the Benguet State University College of Social Sciences conducted a seminar entitled “Psychology in the Workplace: Migration, Gender Dynamics, and Work-Life Integration” in collaboration with the Benguet State University International Relations Office, featuring visiting lecturers from the University of Huelva as keynote speakers. The seminar was held at the IRO Hall on May 19, 2026, and was attended by university staff, faculty members, and students.
Santiago Rodríguez Muriel, a psychologist and educator based in Huelva, Spain, served as the main speaker and delivered his presentation entitled “Understanding Migration: A Psychosocial Perspective.” He discussed the reasons why people migrate, the psychological effects of migration on mental health, the importance of psychological support for displaced communities, and cross-cultural strategies in working with migrant populations.
Following the presentation, Luiz Rodrigues shared his personal experiences and challenges as someone who has also undergone migration from one country to another, giving participants meaningful insights into migration, cultural adaptation, and workplace integration.
The seminar provided an opportunity for participants to gain a deeper understanding of migration through psychological and cultural perspectives, while promoting meaningful discussions on empathy, inclusivity, and global engagement in today’s interconnected world.
